What is 'BMET Immigration Clearance'?
The Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) office of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment of Bangladesh has introduced a process to register aspiring migrants into the Government mandated BMET database.
If you have received a new visa from any country where employment is permitted from Bangladesh, and your visa type is work-permit, then you will need to complete this process and get the BMET immigration clearance smart card before flying abroad.
You will not be allowed to pass the airport immigration without having this card even if you are holding a valid visa.
The process of getting “BMET immigration clearance card” -is called as “Manpower processing” in Bangladesh. And this card is called as “Manpower card“.
By completing the manpower process through our agency, you will get your digital chip embed smart card which includes your passport information, visa details, and bio-metric information.
Who needs this "Manpower processing"?
- Any person, who has received a valid work permit visa. Regardless of the profession mentioned in the visa, if it is a work permit visa you must have to complete the manpower process.
- Only ‘doctor’ and ‘engineer’ professions are exempted from this process so far.
- The dependents of the candidate will not require this clearance.

If you received a work-permit visa from these countries, and going for the first time, then you must clear the ‘BMET immigration clearance process’ before the ‘Airport immigration process’. The ‘smart card’ must be with you at the airport!

Common requirements for Manpower card:
- A valid passport along with any previous passport.
- Fingerprint/bio-metric enrollment must be done at your district BMET office.
- Certificate of completion of “3 days orientation training” at district ‘Technical training center’. [Not required if you lived in that country before for at least 12 months]
- Attestation of visa and agreement papers from the Bangladesh High Commission in the visa issuing country. (**This is not required for all countries)
