What is 'BMET Immigration Clearance'?
The Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) office of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment of Bangladesh has introduced a process to register aspiring migrants into the Government mandated BMET database.
If you have received a new visa from any country where employment is permitted from Bangladesh, and your visa type is work-permit, then you will need to complete this process and get the BMET immigration clearance smart card. BMET clearance is mandatory for migrant workers before flying abroad.
You will not be allowed to pass the airport immigration without having this card even if you are holding a valid visa.
The process of getting “BMET immigration clearance card” -is called as “Manpower processing” in Bangladesh. And this card is called as “Manpower card“.
By completing the manpower process through our agency, you will get your digital chip embed smart card which includes your passport information, visa details, and bio-metric information.
Who needs this Manpower processing/BMET clearance?
- Any person, who has received a valid work permit visa. Regardless of the profession mentioned in the visa, if it is a work permit visa you must complete the manpower process and get the BMET clearance smart card.
- The dependents of the candidate will not require this clearance.

Common facts:
- You can register yourself at Amiprobashi app to get the PDO appointment, and to pay fees for bio-metrics.
- Your original passport along with your old passports shall be requested due to the processing needs.
- Fingerprint/bio-metric enrollment must be done at your own district BMET offices, except for some exceptions!
- PDO is not mandatory for profession ‘Doctor’ and ‘Engineer’. However, these professions must be mentioned in the visa copy.
